So take a look at all the pages and keep scrolling! We are a small congregation made up of townsfolk and students from a variety of backgrounds. Our worship is informal and inclusive. We spend a lot of time together, try to take care of each other, and bear witness to Jesus with each other in our own time and place. Mission Statement As our name implies, we believe that making peace and building community are priorities for those who follow Jesus. And we do welcome everyone into our Church. Or as our Guiding Principles and Policies puts it, "we are committed to a church membership that makes no distinctions based on age, sex, race, sexual orientation, cultural background, or economic accomplishments." The Sermonator The Sermonator is our blog where you will find sermons that our pastors, Revs. Mary and Steve Hammond, and others have preached. You will also find a rant or two and other interesting stuff, like the report on the use of torture by the United States government, and the recap of the symposium on the development of a Peace and Conflict Studies program held at Oberlin College in the spring of 2007. Access Project Underway The new Handicap Access Lift will be installed during the month of May. There will be some disruptions in the back parking lot and  there will be times when we will not be able to use the side entrance to the church. But the front entrance will be always available.  The Lift will accomodate a person in a wheel chair and an attendant, or three people with no wheel chairs. The Lift will be accesible from the parking lot and inside the building with stops on the sanctuary, ground, and Community Room levels.   We currently have a bit more than $43,000 on hand to pay for the project which will cost another $20,000. We have access to non-interest loans that will enable us to complete the project, but your contribution or additional contriubtion to the Access Project will reduce the amount of the loan.   There are several people in the congregation anxiously awaiting completion of the Lift, plus others in the community who are looking forward to being able to participate in programs at the church once the Lift is installed.   The CROP Walk is April 27. _____ Celebrate the 20th Anniversary  of Mary Hammond's Ordination on May 4.
